‘Anaarkali of Aaraah’
Swara Bhaskar impressed us with her performance in last year’s release ‘Nil Battey Sannata’. Now she is all set to be back on the big screen as a lead actress in the upcoming flick ‘Anaarkali Of Aaraah’. The actress plays the role of an erotic singer. We are sure Swara will once again impress us with her act.
‘Naam Shabana’
‘Naam Shabana’, the prequel of ‘Baby’ concentrates on how the character of Taapsee Pannu became a spy. The promos of this action flick are really good, and after ‘PINK’ we all are expecting a fantastic performance from the actress in this one too.
‘Begum Jaan’
Vidya Balan’s ‘Kahaani 2’ might have not minted the money at the box office. However, we cannot ignore the fact that she is one of the best actresses we have in the industry. She will be back with a bang in the film ‘Begum Jaan’. The trailer of the film has been released and everyone just can’t stop praising it.
‘Noor’
Sonakshi Sinha’s first woman-centric film, ‘Akira’, couldn’t manage to get the audiences to the theatres. However, the actress is all set for her second woman-centric flick, ‘Noor’. It is a comedy which turns into a thriller, and we have fallen in love with Sonakshi after watching the trailer of the movie.
‘Haseena’
Shraddha Kapoor is currently not in the best phase of her career. The actress had back-to-back flops with films like ‘Rock On 2’ and ‘OK Jaanu’. However, Shraddha is all set to star in one of the biggest films of her career. A film that can just change her career. We are talking about, ‘Haseena’, which is a biopic on Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar. The first look of the film is out, and Shraddha has nailed it.
‘MOM’
Sridevi ruled the silver screens in the 80s and 90s. She made a successful comeback with ‘English Vinglish’ in 2012, but now after five years she is all set to be back with the film ‘MOM’. And we won’t be surprised if this film too turns out to be a brilliant movie like ‘English Vinglish’.
‘Simran’
Kangana Ranaut’s career is at a downfall with back-to-back flops. However, we have a lot of expectations from ‘Simran’ as it is directed by an amazing filmmaker like Hansal Mehta. We can surely expect this one to give a boost to Kangana’s career.
‘Tumhari Sulu’
After a dramatic-intense performance in ‘Begum Jaan’, Vidya will be once again seen in a woman-centric film titled ‘Tumhari Sulu’. The actress will be seen as an RJ in the movie and it is said that it will be a comedy flick.
Every year, there are a bundle of films that have a woman as a protagonist, and are termed as the women-centric films. Last year, we had many female-oriented films like ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘Neerja’, ‘Kahaani 2’, ‘Sarbjit’, ‘PINK’ etc. that impressed us a lot, and some of them even made a good amount of money at the box office. Even mainstream filmmakers have started putting their money on women-centric films. (Also Read: A ‘hit’ film is what these actors require right now)
