World Cancer Day is marked on February 4, to create awareness of the deadly C, encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. Over the years, there are several celebrities who have been vocal about their cancer journey. From the diagnosis of the disease, to overcoming it victoriously, these celebrities, who are cancer survivors, are now a source of inspiration to many suffering from cancer. On World Cancer Day, Bollywood celebrities, who are cancer survivors talk about the disease and do their bit to spready awareness. As we celebrate World Cancer Day on Friday, many Bollywood celebrities have emerged victorious against all odds.

Sanjay Dutt
Dutt was diagnosed in 2020 with lung cancer. The actor then underwent treatment for the deadly illness. On the 10th birthday of his twins, Sanjay Dutt announced he is cancer-free.

Sonali Bendre
Bendre was diagnosed with metastatic cancer, back in 2018. Later, the actress had travelled to the US for treatment. Sonali returned cancer-free.

Tahira Kashyap
The writer-filmmaker was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. She defeated the deadly illness with proper medications, and sessions.

Anurag Basu
The Barfi director suffered from blood cancer. Back in 2004, Basu was diagnosed with promyelocytic leukemia- a type of blood cancer. He had revealed that doctors had told him that there are only 50 percent changes of his survival. However, Anurag Basu defeated the deadly C.

Manisha Koirala
The actress was diagnosed with the deadly C in 2012. She was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer. Koirala had underwent surgery in the US and became cancer-free later. Manisha is among a few celebrities who has been spreading awareness on cancer since then.

Lisa Ray
The actress was diagnosed with a rare, incurable form of blood cancer. She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Lisa then underwent chemotherapy for four months followed by a stem cell transplant. In 2010, Ray was declared cancer-free.
