Did Katrina Kaif reject ‘Sultan’ for Ranbir Kapoor?

After rounds of speculations, the leading lady’s role in Salman Khan ‘s ‘Sultan’ finally went to actress Anushka Sharma. Earlier assumptions included names of Parineeti Chopra, Deepika Padukone and even a newcomer in B-Town whose name wasn’t revealed. However, now we hear that the proposal first went to none other than Salman’s ex-flame Katrina Kaif who turned it down! Wondering why?

As reported by Business of Cinema, the ‘Bang Bang’ actress denied to act opposite Salman as she didn’t want to offend her then boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, who have dated each other in past, recently came together for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’. It was an intense romantic film and the two were seen bonding very closely, not just in the film but at all the promotional events as well. Katrina was reportedly miffed at Ranbir because of this. Given that, rejecting ‘Sultan’ was probably an effort of being fair from her end.

However, was it a professionally sound decision? We doubt.
