Did Priyanka Chopra beat Deepika Padukone for Siddharth Anand’s next?

We all know that Eros has signed a Indo-Chinese co-production deal, the first movie of which is Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’, which features Chinese actress Zhu Zhu opposite Salman Khan. Now, if reports are to be believed, the second movie is to be helmed by ‘Bang Bang’ fame director Siddharth Anand.

Apparently, the movie is a cultural romance which is set in Beijing, and has Chinese actor Deng Chao in the lead role. Now here comes the interesting part, regarding the leading lady. A birdie has hinted that it will be an actress who is already making her presence felt on global level. Naturally, we thought of Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, both of who are to make their Hollywood debut with ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ and ‘Baywatch’ respectively. Priyanka, however, has already made her presence felt with TV series ‘Quantico’, which even earned her a People’s Choice Award.

However, now Deepika’s spokesperson has come out and denied that the actress has been approached for any such project. The spokesperson said, “These are mere rumours. Deepika has not even been approached for the film.”

So, can we assume that we will see Priyanka Chopra romancing Deng Chao, in this love story which is set in Beijing? Let’s wait for an official confirmation on the same.
