‘Pushpa: The Rise’ featuring pan-India’s iconic leading man Allu Arjun released on 17th December 2021 and it certainly lived up to its title and tagline. Pushpa 1 not just became the biggest box office hit but was also appreciated by one and all across the nation. It went on to eventually became a global phenomenon!

The blockbuster, featuring Allu Arjun in the lead along with the supremely talented Rashmika Mandanna, emerged as a runaway hit in all languages. It served as strong proof of the mass hero’s unparalleled star power. As Pushpa 1 completes a year today, we look back at what made it one of the most successful and biggest success story of 2021.

Touted to be the major money-spinner of 2021, the Allu Arjun-Rashmika Mandanna starrer hit a historic benchmark at the box office and grossed over 350 crores globally. Such was the superstar’s Pan India appeal that the Hindi version of the film alone went on to make over 80 crores.

If that wasn’t all, the movie’s OTT release only excited the audience even more as they thronged to theatres to re-watch the film on big screens. Allu Arjun blockbuster ran successfully in theatres for 50 days at a stretch (after its OTT release).

From launching a new remarkable wave of Pan-India films, Allu Arjun also conquered several other avenues. He bagged an impressive endorsement deal with food and beverage giant KFC, who named a product line after him. His fans also paid tribute to him by creating Lord Ganesha idols replicating his look and move from the movie. His hit songs ‘Saami Saami’ and ‘Srivalli’ dominated not just airwaves and social media but also made it to celebratory events like Navratri this year. During Diwali there were even firecrackers themed on his character in Pushpa.

As the second installment of the historic blockbuster was announced, fans can’t wait to see Allu Arjun reprise his role as Pushpa.
