Rishab Shetty has managed to win hearts with his mind-blowing storytelling and spectacular performance in the recently released movie, Kantara. The movie Kantara is currently breaking records at the box office. And, in only days of its release, the movie is proving to be a box office success.
As Kantara continues to receive love from the audience, actor-director Rishab Shetty opened up about his journey and struggles so far. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Shetty spoke about facing struggles like having no work, selling mineral water to the massive success of his movie Kantara.
Opening up about his struggles, the Kantara director said, “Main college mein tha. Second year degree mein, ye sab mineral water bechne ka kaam shuru kiya tha. Woh jyada struggle kuch nahi hai, kyunki main gaav se aaya. Mere baap ek astrologer the, Bangalore mein. So, udhar aake, kharcha karne ke liye, paisa chahiye tha, cinema dekhne ke liye, aur college ka sab dekhne ke liye. So, isliye main ek part-time job jaisa college ke baad karta tha. (I was in college back then. I started selling mineral water in the second year of my degree college. It was not that big of a struggle, because I hailed from a village. My father was an astrologer in Bangalore. So, I worked to earn money for college expenses, to watch a movie etc. I used to do that as a part-time job after college).”

Rishab further shared what other jobs he did, apart from selling mineral water. Speaking about his struggles, the actor-director said, “Mineral water supply kiya tha. Aur tea powder becha tha. Solar ka marketing karta tha. Hotel tha mera, woh ek bada disaster tha. Uske baad construction karta tha, film industry mein mainstream aane se pehle, last work wahi tha (I supplied Mineral water. Sold tea powder. Did marketing for a solar company. I also had a hotel, it was a big disaster. After that, I was into construction, before enterting into the mainstream film industry, that was my last work).”
He also mentioned working as a driver and a office boy. Shetty added, “Aur Bombay mein tha mein kuch din toh driver ka kaam kiya, producer ko, aur office boy ka bhi kaam kiya aur production incharge ka bhi kiya (And, when I was in Mumbai for some time, I had worked as a driver for a producer, as an office boy and I also worked as a production incharge).”
