Indian 2: Kamal Haasan ‘is back’ as Shankar resumes film’s shoot, check out new poster

After such a long wait, finally Indian 2 shoot has resumed. Director Shankar on Wednesday dropped new posters of his upcoming film on social media. He also announced that the shooting has resumed today, August 24. Kamal Haasan will join the shoot from September onwards. Kajal Aggarwal will also join him.

The posters shared by Shankar on Twitter features the Vikram actor. “He is back” is written on the posters.

Sharing the posters, the Robot director wrote, “Good morning Indians, we are glad to announce that the remaining shoot for Indian 2 is commencing today! Need all of your support and wishes (sic).”

Kamal Haasan also shared the posters and wrote that he will join from September and wished the team a ‘successul journey’.

Kajal Aggarwal, who is playing the female lead in the film, recently revealed that she will join the shoot from September 13. There were reports that Kajal is not part of Indian 2. But putting all the rumours to rest, she finally confirmed that she is still part of the Shankar film.

Indian 2 is the sequel to the film of the same name, which was released in 1996. The film was put on hold after a crane accident on sets that took three lives. Ten individuals were injured. In 2021, two main actors of the film, comedian Vivek and veteran star Nedumudi Venu passed away. Also, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the alleged creative differences, the film got delayed further. The film is backed by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant and Lyca Productions.

The movie also stars Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simhaa, Guru Somasundaram and Delhi Ganesh in pivotal roles
