Mahesh Babu breaks down at father Krishna’s funeral; Prabhas, Ram Charan, Naga Chaitanya pay last respects

On the personal front, year 2022 has been a terrible year for Telugu actor Mahesh Babu. He lost his elder brother Ramesh Babu in January, in September his mother Indira Devi passed away and on November 15, his father superstar Krishna breathed his last due to cardiac arrest. He was 79. The last rites of the veteran actor will take place in Hyderabad with full state honours. The Sarkaru Vaari Paata actor was inconsolable during the antim darshan of his father. Actors like Chiranjeevi, Jr NTR and Allu Arjun, Naga Chaitanya, and Prabhas among others paid last respects to the actor at his residence in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad.

The back to back deaths of his family members have left Mahesh Bahu heartbroken and devastated. The pics and videos from the last rites have gone viral on social media where his peers from the industry were seen consoling him.

Post Krishna’s death, the Ghattamaneni’s family released a joint statement. It was issued by Mahesh Babu and Namrata’s children, Gautham and Sitara as well as the actor’s sisters Manjula, Padmavathi, and Priyadarshini Ghattamaneni.

The statement reads: “It is with the deepest grief that we inform you of the passing of our dearest Krishna garu. He was a superstar in so many ways beyond the movie screen… guided by love, humility and compassion. He will live on through his work, through us, and the many lives he influenced. He loved us more than anything and we will miss him more with each passing day… but as they say, goodbyes aren’t forever. Until we meet again… – THE GHATTAMANENI FAMILY.”
