Navarasa producer Mani Ratnam says he will any day pick producing over directing a film

Navarasa, which is one of the most-awaited movies of the year, has released today (August 6) on the OTT platform Netflix. Just hours before the grand release of the movie, the cast and team had a fan meet. For the uninitiated, the movie is an anthology and it consists of nine stories based on nine emotions. The same is directed by different directors such as Arvind Swami, Rathindran Prasad, Priyadarshan, Vasanth, Karthick, Karthik Subbaraj, Sarjun KM, Halitha Shameem, Bejoy Nambiar and Gautham Menon and produced by Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan.

In the e-meet, Mani Ratnam said, “It was a pleasure doing the film. Even though we had nine films, I was relaxed as I knew it was in capable hands. We were just there to coordinate. Any day, I’ll pick this over directing a film.” As per reports, Ratnam and Panchapakesan did this movie in order to help the workers in the Tamil industry, who were affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Also, the proceeds from the movie will help more than 12,000 workers in Tamil industry.

The names of nine movies are Roudhram, Inmai, Summer of 92, Paayasam, Project Agni, Peace, Thunintha pin, Edhiri, Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru. The movie stars popular names like Vijay Sethupathi, Suriya, Siddharth, Prakash Raj, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Aishwarya Rajessh among others. Around 40 top actors are associated with the project. Speaking of the music, the same is composed by AR Rahman, D Imman, Ghibran and top cinematographers such as Santosh Sivan, Balasubramaniam, Manoj Paramahamsa were brought on board.
