Navarasa Teaser: Suriya, Siddharth, Vijay Sethupathi take us through roller coaster of nine emotions in Mani Ratnam’s anthology

On Friday (July 9), Netflix India South unveiled the teaser of the much-anticipated Tamil anthology Navarasa. Navarasa is an upcoming anthology produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Jayendra Panchapakesan. There are nine short stories based on the nine emotions or rasas– anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder. Some of the stellar actors are taken on board for the anthology.

Actors like Suriya, Siddharth, Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Saravanan, Alagam Perumal, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Aishwarya Rajessh, Poorna, Riythvika, Prasanna, Vikranth, Simha, Gautham Karthik, Ashok Selvan, Robo Shankar, Ramesh Thilak, Sananth, Vidhu and Sreeram will be seen in the anthology. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arvind Swami, Karthik Subbaraj, Bejoy Nambiar, Karthick Naren, KV Anand, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad and Halitha Shameem are the directors. Actor Arvind Swami is making his directorial debut with Navarasa. AR Rahman, Arul Dev, Karthik, Ron Ethan Yohann, D Imman, Ghibran, Govind Vasantha and Justin Prabhakaran have composed the music.

The anthology comes with the tagline, “Nine stories, nine emotions”. In the teaser, we see the actors showcasing all nine emotions.

In the teaser, it is mentioned that Navarasa is, “The emotional journey of an industry coming together to support its people”. Yes, the earnings from Navarasa will be used for those affected by Covid-19. Navarasa will stream on Netflix from August 6.
