Jai Bhim: Scene from Suriya starrer features on Oscars YouTube channel

Suriya starrer Jai Bhim has made it to Oscars YouTube Channel. With this, the Tamil superhit movie has added yet another feather to the cap. The official Twitter handle of Suriya’s production house, 2D Entertainment, announced the same on the micro-blogging site and wrote, “An honour of the highest order! #JaiBhim has been featured in the official YouTube channel of @TheAcademy #SceneAtTheAcademy.”

The description of Jai Bhim mentioned on the Oscars YouTube channel read: “Jai Bhim weaves in real case studies helmed by Activist-Lawyer Chandru, who brought justice to indigenous tribes in Tamilnadu through his relentless efforts. Writer-director TJ Gnanavel reveals how the story narrative was formed and executed (sic).”

For the unversed, Jai Bhim received a Golden Globes Awards 2022 nomination under Best Non-English Language Film category. The description on the Golden Globe Awards official page read as, “Jai Bhim is currently the highest user-rated film on IMDb with a score of 9.6. It surpassed the ratings of The Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather.”

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Jai Bhim got embroiled in controversies. But despite all the hurdles, it managed to achieve so much. It released on Amazon Prime Video on November 2. It is produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the banner of 2D Entertainment. Suriya plays the character of a lawyer who fights for the rights of the tribal communities.
