Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan was admitted to a hospital in Chennai on Monday (May 10), for kidney stones. The actor has undergone several tests and will undergo surgery soon. PRO Nadigar Sangam wrote on Twitter, “Actor #MansoorAliKhan has been hospitalized because of a block in the kidney owing to the presence of a large stone. All tests have been taken as he is getting ready for a surgery(sic)”.

Recently, Mansoor grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons. A video of the actor went viral where he claimed that there was no clarity on the Covid-19 vaccine and blamed the Health Secretary for misleading people. It was after the death of actor Vivek who passed away a day after he took the Covid-19 vaccine. There were reports that Vivek died due to the vaccine. However, the hospital clarified that it was not because of the vaccine, whereas Vivek died of cardiac arrest.

The Chennai city police arrested Mansoor for spreading misinformation on Covid-19. A complaint was lodged against him under sections 153, 270, 505 (1), 505(1)(b) as well as provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act and National Disaster Management Act. But later he was released on bail by the Madras High Court and he had to pay Rs 2 lakh to the Health Secretary to purchase Covid-19 vaccines.
