Ben Affleck-Jennifer Lopez Divorce: Actor distances himself from JLo’s kids; source says, “It’s like he left”

After months of making the headlines for trouble in their marriage, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on August 20, 2024, in LA County Superior Court. While the former couple battle it out in court – with JLo requesting Affleck to be dropped from her name, new reports suggest that their dynamics with each other’s kids have changed. As per reports, Ben is no longer in contact with Lopez’s kids from her previous marriage.

For the unversed, the former couple – who do not share any kids together, have a total of 5 kids from their previous marriages. Affleck is a father to three children – Violet (18), Seraphina (15), and Samuel (12) with ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Lopez is the mother of 16-year-old twins, Max and Emma with her former husband Marc Anthony.

While Jennifer Lopez has earlier told the world that Ben Affleck was ‘a great dad,’ a People report suggests that the actor has distanced himself from her twins. As per the insider, the ‘On the Floor’ singer is “still close to Garner and all five kids.” However, ‘The Batman’ actor is “close to his three kids” but “has not been in touch with her kids.”

The source added, “The fact that he has not seen her kids in a long time, it’s like he left, but she is especially close to his kids.” Jlo was recently spotted attending Samuel’s graduation ceremony in June. Affleck’s daughter, Violet was also seen spending a week with the singer during her Hamptons vacation last month. The insider added that Lopez is also close to Marc’s kids from [his] previous relationship. The source noted, “She keeps in touch with the children and she’s a good mom.”

Ben and JLo rekindled their romance in April 2021 and got engaged in April 2022. They tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022. However, their relationship kept making the headlines in recent times as the couple began living separately. In May this year, Ben moved out of their shared marital home in Beverly Hills. Since then, Ben has been residing at a rented house in Brentwood and JLo is based at her LA home.
