Brad Pitt takes Angelina Jolie to court over their joint winery

Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been locked in a messy court battle ever since she filed for divorce in September 2016. Seems like their legal issues have not been resolved as yet. The Troy star has taken his ex-wife to court once again. He is suing the Eternal star over their joint winery.

Brad Pitt is suing Angelina Jolie for selling her share of the French vineyard where they got married.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were once Hollywood’s highest-profile couple. The Oscar winners fell for each other while filming the 2005 action film Mr. & Mrs Smith. They had bought a controlling stake of Chateau Miraval in southern France in 2008. The couple had a dreamy wedding at the winery six years later. But they filed to dissolve their marriage in 2016.

The authorized doc obtained by AFP says, according to a lawsuit filed by Brad Pitt, the couple had “agreed they would never sell their respective interests in Miraval without the other’s consent.” But, Jolie offered her stake to a “Luxembourg-based spirits manufacturer controlled by Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler.”

The document further adds, “Jolie broke the phrases of their unique settlement by not providing him first refusal for her share. She is looking to recover unearned windfall profits for herself while inflicting gratuitous harm on Pitt.”

“Jolie long ago stopped contributing to Miraval — while Brad Pitt poured money into the wine business, building it into the ascendant company it is today,” it states.

Jolie’s lawyer said the actress had not yet been served with Pitt’s lawsuit. They added, her representatives were learning about the complaint from the media.
