BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook on Tuesday announced they are taking a hiatus during their FESTA dinner. BTS members added that they will now focus on their solo projects. The members assured ARMYs around the world that they are not disbanding but only taking a break as a group.
BTS’ leader RM, who was in tears, said that after BTS’ last few singles ‘Butter’, and ‘Permission To Dance’, he “didn’t know what kind of group we were anymore.” He added, “I’ve always thought that BTS was different from other groups. But the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature. You have to keep producing music and keep doing something.”
Namjoon continued, “I’ve changed as a human over the past 10 years, so I needed to think and have some alone time. Right now when we’re at our best I feel like I should be contributing something to the world, but I don’t know what that is.”

Suga said, “It’s not like we’re disbanding. We should live doing what we want to do.” J-Hope added that “change is what we need right now” and also mentioned that it’s important for the members to start their second chapter and live apart for a while to come back stronger.
Jimin said that the members are trying to figure things out. Jungkook said, “I promise we will return someday, more mature than now. Till then, we ask for your blessing.”
After BTS announced they are going on a hiatus, fans took to social media to show their support. An ARMY tweeted, “BTS hiatus, they deserve all the love in the world. Thank you BTS for being there for me. Will forever be ARMY and wait for you.” Another one wrote, “#BTS to you who have taught me what love is.”
BTS officially debuted in 2013. The members have been together for over nine years now. The Bangtan Boys have been topping charts and ruling the music industry. BTS recently released their anthology album ‘PROOF’.
