Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. Each has a role to play in this covert operation devised by the ultimate wizarding mastermind: Professor Albus Dumbledore. The film features an ensemble cast also including Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Katherine Waterston, and Mads Mikkelsen.

Reprising the role of Credence is none other than Ezra Miller. Talking about his uniquely sculpted character and his process with director David Yates, he says, “There is this sense of decay and Credence’s self-awareness is growing in a way that’s very painful. At the same time, there’s finally progress in his journey to self-awareness and the knowledge of his own origins. David has a great mind for nuance…so it was very useful to have a director like that for a process like this one, specifically with this iteration of this character. There is never just one dimension in what’s motivating him; it’s multifaceted and it’s at conflict with itself, so we tried to make sure we were charting all of the points of that even when sometimes they contradicted each other—embracing those contradictions, leaning into them.”
