Following the Golden Globes last week, awards season continued Sunday night as the annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony took place on 14th January. Actress-comedian Chelsea Handler returned for the second consecutive year as host of the ceremony, which was held at Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Los Angeles. After sweeping all major awards at the Golden Globes, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer showed its dominance at the Critics Choice awards by winning in eight categories. While Paul Giamatti won best actor for The Holdovers Emma Stone bagged the best actress trophy for her impeccable performance in The Poor Things.
