Former AOA member Mina hospitalised after she tries to take her own life

Former AOA member Mina is said to have attempted suicide during the early hours of July 29. As per reports by Korean news outlets, she was found unconscious at her apartment by an acquaintance who was unable to contact the singer. The authorities were immediately called and rushed to the hospital. Kwon Mina is said to be receiving emergency treatment for excessive bleeding and is recovering now.

Mina had taken a break from social media just hours before her attempt to take her own life. She had taken to her Instagram and apologised for not being able to stay offline for long. The former AOA singer said that she is making a decision to return to social media. Apologising she wrote, “I’m really sorry for showing actions of not taking responsibility for my words…I kept saying that I would get off Instagram and take time to self-reflect… I had to give you discomfort again. I contemplated a lot. But there were so many incidents such as the incident with Yoo and Shin Jimin to keep my mouth shut.”

Along with that Mina had also shared screenshots of messages to people who she says are not linked to her recent controversies. She also stated that these people have continued to spread lies about her.

Earlier this month, Kwon Mina faced a lot of backlash online due to her recent cheating controversy with ex-boyfriend Yoo, who was dating someone else before he began dating Mina. The singer said that she had been a ‘been a sly fox’ while apologising for her actions.
