BIGBANG star Seungri who had retired from show business given the sex scandal that he was accused of, has been jailed by a military court for three years on Thursday as he used to arrange sex services for potential business partners. He has been indicted for all nine charges, which include embezzlement, sexual crimes, habitual gambling, and the purchase of prostitution services. Not just that, Seungri has also been ordered to pay a fine of 1.15 billion won.
Seungri’s name had first being brought up in 2019 when he was accused of arranging sex services for investors in his business along with his manager. Apart from that, the former BIG BANG member was also accused of gambling in Las Vegas. As per reports, judge Hwang Min-je was quoted saying, “It is hard to see the defendant was not aware of financial payments paid to the women for sex.”

Earlier, Seungri had denied all charges against him except for the violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, but the court has declared him guilty of all nine charges. He was immediately arrested on August 12 as the court was of the opinion that he would try to evade the arrest.
Due to his arrest, Seungri will be discharged from the military service which was to be completed originally in mid-September. Reports also said that the singer’s personal info will be registered in the national registry for the violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes.
