Today, on Thursday, the Harry Potter actor named Albus Dumbledore, aka Sir Michael Gambon took his last breath today. He played the character of the headmaster at Hogwarts and was loved for it. Known for many other roles, the actor was best known for his character of Albus Dumbledore.

Sir Michael Gambon passes away at 82

The actor was 82 and he succumbed to a “bout of pneumonia”. A statement was issued by his family and was shared by the publicist. His family stated, “We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside.”

During his career as an actor, Gambon won four television BAFTA awards. Before becoming well-known at a global level, the actor worked in TV, film, theater, and radio. Post this, he became the second actor to play the role of principal at Hogwarts, a school based on the much-loved book Harry Potter, by JK Rowling.

Sir Michal Gambon was born in October 1940 in Dublin and was raised in London. Further, he followed his father’s footsteps and was trained as an engineer. In 1965, Gambon was one of the founding members of the National Theatre Company with Laurence Olivier.

Previously, the actor emerged as one of Britain’s top-notch actors. Further, he met a new sea of fans after his role as Dumbledore started receiving love and appreciation. Sir Michael Gambon as Dumbledore raised his international profile to newer levels and the love that his characters receives even today is proof of the same!
