Jay-Z’s lawyer says accuser’s rape claim is provably, demonstrably false- Report

Speaking at Roc Nation’s New York headquarters on Monday, attorney Alex Spiro presented evidence to various media outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter, Us Weekly, and The New York Times, asserting that it would disprove the narrative provided by Jane Doe and demonstrate that the incident never happened. “This is not about truth and justice,” Spiro stated regarding the accusations against Jay-Z, as per The Hollywood Reporter. “This is about money.”

The rape allegations were brought forth on December 8 in a newly amended lawsuit, which accuses Jay-Z of sexually assaulting a teenage girl alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards after-party. Originally filed in October on behalf of an unnamed woman from Alabama, the lawsuit claims that both men drugged and raped her while another unnamed female celebrity looked on.

Jay-Z denies to comment on rape allegations

USA TODAY has reached out to both Jay-Z and Roc Nation for comments. The rapper has fiercely denied the allegations and filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit on December 9. He labelled the legal action a blackmail attempt orchestrated by attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents Jane Doe.

In a recent NBC News interview, the woman admitted to having made some mistakes in recounting the events of that night but maintained her allegations. However, her father countered her previous statement about him picking her up from the after-party.

Spiro highlighted significant inconsistencies in her account. He said, “If you look at the timing, this can’t have happened.” He continued, “When people fabricate a story—whether intentionally or due to confusion—they may get the core elements right but tend to mess up the details. Something that isn’t real will have inconsistent details because the person wasn’t actually there. It’s simply not possible—it didn’t happen.”

False narrative crafted against Jay-Z

Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter noted that Spiro presented a six-minute clip from Jane Doe’s NBC News interview. In the video, Doe, criticized her attorney, Buzbee, for crafting a false narrative. Spiro expressed confidence that the case would be dismissed, stating that if it proceeded, it would ultimately fall apart.

He also conveyed Jay-Z’s frustration over the situation, emphasizing that it detracts from the experiences of genuine victims. “He’s troubled that his children and family are affected by this,” Spiro added, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. According to Us Weekly, Spiro claimed that dozens of people are ready to assist in discrediting the allegations against Jay-Z.

Furthermore, the woman stated that she spoke with an unnamed celebrity at the after-party. However, that celebrity contends they were not in New York during the time of the alleged incident. Additionally, photographs reportedly show both Jay-Z and Diddy at a different location than what Jane Doe described.
