Jennifer Lopez set aside her ‘ego’ to star in Ben Affleck’s Unstoppable amid divorce

In a recent interview, the 55-year-old actress and singer discussed her focus on personal growth and professional development. During this transitional period, she emphasised her commitment to the project despite her estrangement from her husband.

“It was an honour to be a part of Anthony [Robles’ story] and to play Judy,” Jennifer said to Amazon/MGM. “I approached the role with humility, setting my ego aside to truly respect the person I was portraying since it’s her story.”

Affleck praises JLo’s performance

Affleck commended Jennifer’s performance, describing it as spectacular. He noted to Entertainment Tonight that “Unstoppable is quite different from [his film Small Things Like These], but it shares a foundation rooted in the passion of exceptionally talented artists.” He praised the dedication of the film’s cast, including Jennifer, Don Cheadle, Jharrel Jerome, and Bobby Cannavale.

After reuniting and marrying in 2022, Jennifer filed for divorce in August 2024. There were reports of difficulties in their marriage, including living separately. An insider revealed to InTouch Weekly, “He’s focusing on his work and his kids now. Ben has already moved out… They will always love each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her.”

Reflecting on this phase of her life in an interview with Interview Magazine, Jennifer expressed, “I thought about where I am now and realized, ‘This isn’t what I envisioned.’ But then I recognized, ‘No, this is exactly where I was meant to be.’”
