The GOT actress has accused Joe Jonas of refusing to give her the passports of their kids. She had requested the return of their children to England. According to PEOPLE, as per a petition filed in the New York States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Sophie has said that Joe had refused to give her the passport of their children, and had prevented them from returning to England.
The lawsuit filed states, “The Father has prevented the children’s return to England, which is a breach of the Mother’s rights of custody under English law, England being the children’s habitual residence.”

Joe Jonas reacts to Sophie’s lawsuit
According to People, Joe Jonas’ representative has now shared an official statement reacting to it. It said, “After multiple conversations with Sophie, Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida, as Florida is the appropriate jurisdiction for the case. Sophie was aware that Joe was going to file for divorce. The Florida Court has already entered an order that restricts both parents from relocating the children. Sophie was served with this order on September 6, 2023, more than two weeks ago.”
Further, the statement has also said that the two have agreed upon an ‘amicable co-parenting setup’. It said, Joe is, “seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father and is, of course, also okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK.” “This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not abducted,” the statement added.
Further, the statement added, “After being in Joe’s care for the past three months at the agreement of both parties, the children are currently with their mother. Sophie is making this claim only to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and to remove the children from the US permanently,”
On 6 September, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner shared an official statement confirming their divorce and expressed the need for privacy at such a crucial time.
