In a recent chat Kit Harington – who essayed the role of Jon Snow since the show’s first episode, addressed the backlash the show received.

Kit acknowledged the ‘rushed feel’ the series finale gave fans and also spoke about the spinoff centred on his character. Read on to know all he said.

Kit Harington on Game Of Thrones’ ‘rushed’ finale

While interacting with GQ Hype, Kit Harington talked about why the finale of the HBO show felt rushed. The ‘Jon Snow’ actor – while stating that everyone was exhausted by the time the 10th season rolled, said, “I think if there was any fault with the end of Thrones, is that we were all so f*cking tired. We couldn’t have gone on longer. And so I understand some people thought it was rushed and I might agree with them. But I’m not sure there was any alternative.”

The actor added, “I look at pictures of me in that final season and I look exhausted. I look spent. I didn’t have another season in me.”

While talking about the backlash the show’s final season received, the ‘Eternals’ actor said everyone’s entitled to an opinion. He stated, “I think there were mistakes made, story-wise, towards the end maybe. I think there were some interesting choices that didn’t quite work.”

Kit on Jon Snow spinoff being shelved

During the same conversation, Kit Harington was asked about the spinoff HBO was developing around his GoT character Jon Snow. Talking about why it was ultimately shelved, the actor said, “What I can tell you is it was HBO that came to me and said, ‘Would you consider this?’ My first reaction was ‘No’.” He continued, “And then I thought there could be an interesting and important story about the soldier after the war. I felt that there might be something left to say and a story left to tell in a pretty limited way.”

However, he added that after they “spent a couple of years back and forth developing” the spinoff “nothing got us excited enough.”
