Earlier today, Netflix has confirmed the production of the second season of D.P refers to ‘deserter pursuit’ which stars Jung Hae-in, Koo Kyo-hwan, Kim Sung-Kyun, and Son Seok-Koo in pivotal roles. The South Korean streaming television series is helmed by writer Kim Bo Tong, who penned webtoon and now the K-drama.
Jung shared the official news on his social media handle and penned a long caption, that read as: “D.P SEASON 2 IS REAL!! Netflix has confirmed that D. P, which stars Jung Hae In and Koo Kyo Hwan, is coming back for season 2! This is also after the K-drama was selected for The New York Times Best International Shows of 2021, released on December 3. video cr: @netflixkr”

The first season Jung Hae In and Koo Kyo Hwan starrer series received a lot of love across the world. Set in 2014, D.P. tells the story of a team of Korean military police with their job to catch absconders. After its release, the series took No. 1 in Netflix’s popular shows ranking in Korea and has shown global success in countries like Thailand, Vietnam, and more as well. It premiered in six parts on Netflix on August 27, 2021.
It also amplifies the adverse nature of the military, particularly within a South Korean context. The widespread bullying and hazing, as well as the mindset for the survival of the fittest, are predominant, with those alleged the weakest thrown to the lowest of the pile and served perplexing practices at the hands of their chiefs and countrymen.
Meanwhile, the first season of ‘D.P’ finishes with a cliff-hanger, leaving audiences wondering where the story will lead. The second season will pick up from where the first season left off.
