blake lively, justin baldoni,

Justin Baldoni has presented a text message as evidence of his good behaviour during the filming of It Ends With Us in response to Blake Lively’s harassment claims. According to reports, Justin Baldoni is using a message from their co-star Isabela Ferrer to counter Blake’s allegations in court.

Justin Baldoni presents Isabella Ferrer’s message as evidence

In January, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, the director and star of It Ends With Us, claiming sexual harassment. Baldoni subsequently filed a countersuit against Blake and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of civil extortion and defamation. In his amended suit, Baldoni included a text message from Isabela Ferrer, sent after she completed her work on the film.

InTouch Weekly accessed the text submitted in the US District Court in New York, where Baldoni filed his suit. The message, dated July 11, 2023, reads:

“Hey!! Just got my film developed from when we were shooting so here’s this sweet pic! I also have to say thank you so so much for an incredible experience on my first film. I still can’t shake the feeling of it all because it truly was life-changing for me. You are such a wonderful, smart, and sincere director, and you created such a comfortable, safe space for me to feel like I could fully step into this role. I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming environment. It will stay with me for the rest of my life!! See you soon, whether in the fall or later, & Hope you’re doing well 🙂 X.”

Baldoni responded with appreciation, stating, “You were such a joy and pleasure to work with. Your openness, your raw talent, your kindness, and your excitement made me fall in love with directing again. You have a big career in front of you!!”

Baldoni’s claims

Baldoni asserts that the text serves as evidence of his positive influence on the cast and crew, arguing that the dynamics changed after Blake took over during post-production. He claims that Blake turned the cast against him, leading to his removal from publicity posters and being unfollowed on social media by Blake, Ryan, and eventually the rest of the cast. Notably, Colleen Hoover, the author of the book on which the film is based, also distanced herself from Baldoni.

In his lawsuit, Baldoni alleges that Blake intentionally left a trail of breadcrumbs to suggest that he had harmed her, which contributed to the negative perception among others in the industry. As the legal battle continues, Isabela Ferrer has not publicly commented on the situation between Blake and Justin.
