International pop icon Lady Gaga on Friday opened up on having a ‘total psychotic break’ during her early days. She was seen sharing an ordeal she faced when she got pregnant at the age of 19 after being raped by a music producer. She said that this caused post-traumatic stress disorder that she deals with. However, Lady Gaga assured fans that she is now under control. “I was 19 years old and I was working in the business and a producer said to me: ‘Take your clothes off,'” Lady Gaga said in the documentary “The Me You Can’t See.”

The documentary has been co-created by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry for the Apple TV+ platform. Lady Gaga recalled saying NO and leaving and added, “And they told me they were going to burn all my music and they didn’t stop asking me and then I just froze and I just… I don’t even remember.” The pop icon got teary-eyed while sharing her story. She chose to keep the identity of the rapist hidden saying she does not want to face that person ever again.

Lady Gaga further revealed that the said producer “dropped me off pregnant on a corner by my parents’ house.” She also opened up on being locked away in a studio for months. She further went on to share how an anxiety attack led her to discover that she has been suffering from post-traumatic disorder and revealed she was not the same girl anymore. “It’s like your brain goes offline and you don’t know why no one else is panicking but you’re in an ultra state of paranoia,” Gaga said.

Lady Gaga, however, assured that it took her two and a half years of therapy to control her urge to harm herself. “It’s really a very real thing to feel like there’s a black cloud that is following you wherever you go telling you that you’re worthless and should die. I learned all the ways to pull myself out of it,” Lady Gaga asserted.
