Liam Payne Funeral: Singer’s last rites to take place today in his hometown; all former One Direction bandmates to attend

Former One Direction member Liam Payne – who passes away after falling to his death on October 16, will be laid to rest today, November 20, in his home country. The singer passed away after falling from the balcony of his hotel while under the influence of drugs in Argentina. Payne’s funeral will be a private affair which will his former bandmates – Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles in attendance.

As reported by several British newspapers, including the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror, all four of Liam Payne’s former One Direction bandmates – Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles, are likely attend the funeral today. The ceremony will be a private affair with only family and close friends in attendance.

While all One Direction members will be in attendance, Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores, Liam’s ex-manager, will not be attending. This is due to his alleged connection with the pop singer’s death. In his defense, Nores told the Daily Mail, “I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened. There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I could have never imagined something like this would happen. I’ve given my statement to the prosecutor on October 17 as a witness and I haven’t spoken to any police officer or prosecutor ever since.”

Following his shocking demise, the remaining members of One Direction released a joint statement. The brief note read, “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.” It further read, “The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam. Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry”
