Met gala 2021: Blackpink’s Rosé and CL create history as first female K-Pop idols dazzle the red carpet for the first time

Admit it or not, K-pop seemed to have taken over the world now! Be it the music industry or even the entertainment industry, K-pop stars have managed to make a place in the hearts of many people across globe. However, now they are taking over the fashion field as well. For example, the Met Gala 2021 event​, which​ ​took place on the second Monday of September in 2021 after a year off because of the pandemic. That’s right, CL and Rose are at Met Gala 2021. Before the star-studded event, no female K-pop idols had ever walked down the red carpet at fashion’s biggest night, the Met Gala​, until now.​

The barrier was crushed or rather the history was made when Blackpink’s Rosé and former 2NE1 and current solo star CL walked down the red carpet. Speaking about CL, she wore a blue denim coat over white briefs which looked pretty innovative and dramatic. However, her quirky hairdo and winged eyes are adding more drama to her sassy look. 

Talking about Rosé, the stunning lady opted for a custom Saint Laurent black classic dress. The LBD (little black dress) has an asymmetrical bow detail on the front. For the unversed, she’s not only an official ambassador of Saint Laurent but also showed up with the house’s creative director Anthony Vaccarello at the recent Met Gala event.

Reacting to their appearances at the Met Gala event, a fan wrote, “SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 The date that we will remember.. forever. ROSÉ AT THE MET GALA” another fan said, “CL and ROSÉ being the first kpop women at the met gala!! so deserved for both of these amazing people cause they look STUNNING!! #MetGala2021 #rosé #CL” There was another one who called them Queen, “CL and Rosié at the met gala they are the only first two female kpop idol who attend the met gala Queen indeed!”
