Gaspard Ulliel, one of France’s best-known actors has passed away. The actor died following a skiing accident in the French Alps on Wednesday reported Variety. Gaspard Ulliel was just 37 and his sudden demise has left fans and friends in a shock. The office of the actor’s agent said Ulliel died on Wednesday.
The two-time Cesar-winning actor was hospitalised Tuesday after the accident in the Savoie region’s Rosiere ski area. He had suffered a head injury and did not recover. The actor’s family and the local agent said. He suffered a collision on the slopes in the Savoie region.
Local broadcaster France Bleu said he apparently collided with another skier at a crossing point on the slopes. He was hospitalized with a skull injury and passed away on Wednesday.

Ulliel portrayed the role of young Hannibal Lecter in 2007′s Hannibal Rising. He also played the role of fashion mogul Yves Saint Laurent in the 2014 biopic Saint Laurent. He will be seen in the upcoming Marvel series Moon Knight. The actor was also the advertising face of the Chanel men’s fragrance Bleu de Chanel.
Tributes are pouring in for Gaspard Ulliel on social media. French Prime Minister Jean Castex paid a heartfelt tribute to the late actor. So did Filmmaker Peter Webber, French director and actor Xavier Dolan, French actors Jean Dujardin, Juliette Binoche, Anthony Delon and many more. Thierry Fremaux, Director of the Cannes Film Festival, also shared his condolences. France’s Culture Minister, Roselyne Bachelot described Ulliel’s death as “so unfair”.
