Korean actor Park Seo-joon has contracted COVID-19 based on the statement from his agency Awesome ENT. He is the latest Korean celebrity to be diagnosed with COVID-19 amid a surge in cases in South Korea. The 33-year-old star’s agency confirmed the news.

The Itaewon Class’ star routinely subjected himself to COVID-19 tests before going to his film schedules. Awesome ENT said Park Seo-joon tested positive for COVID-19 using a self-test kit on Feb. 18. He underwent a polymerase chain reaction (PCR), which confirmed that he has COVID-19 on Feb. 19.

On February 24, the actor’s label Awesome ENT said in a statement, “Park Seo Joon consistently underwent COVID-19 tests using a self-diagnosis kit before departing for each of his filming schedules, and last week, right before departing for a schedule, he tested positive using a self-diagnosis kit test. Afterward, on February 19, Park Seo Joon’s PCR test results also returned positive.”

Awesome ENT also assured, “He has completed all three doses of his COVID-19 vaccine including the booster shot. He is currently not experiencing any major symptoms.”

The actor will be released from quarantine on February 25.

Park Seo-joon has been part of several successful K-drama series. Aside from Fight For My Way, he was also the lead star of What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and Itaewon Class. He also has been introduced among the cast for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next titled ‘The Marvels’. The actor also stars in a sports comedy-drama named ‘Dream’ alongside singer IU. He also has disaster-thriller Concrete Utopia.
