Roar trailer: Nicole Kidman embraces her wacky side in this dark, comical feminist anthology

Apple TV Plus has unveiled the first trailer for Roar featuring Nicole Kidman in a pivotal role. The new darkly comic anthology series also features Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever, Fivel Stewart, Betty Gilpin, Alison Brie, Issa Rae and more. It is based on the book by best-selling author Cecelia Ahern. The movie offers an insightful, poignant and hilarious portrait of what it means to be a woman today

Nicole Kidman not only features in the dark comical anthology but is also an executive producer alongside Per Saari and their Emmy Award-winning production company Blossom Films.

The trailer introduces us to distinct stories that will be explored with one thing common in them and that is women. Yes, women take centerstage in the anthology. There are some unique, tales with bizarre scenarios, from a woman who eats photographs, to a woman who finds bite marks on her face. Also, a young woman gets fed by a duck to the one who solves her own murder.

Based on the trailer, it looks like each episode tackles an aspect of the female experience. However, each looks unique, interesting, and compelling.

All eight episodes of Roar are set to premiere on April 15 on Apple TV+.
