Ryan Reynolds says ‘we have no shame’ as he accepts Hollywood is mimicking Bollywood; watch

Superstar Ryan Reynolds starrer Free Guy is all set to release in India today, September 17. The film garnered a lot of critical acclaim and global box office success when it was released in the USA recently. The adventure comedy also stars Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi in the lead roles. To promote Free Guy in India, Ryan released a fun message for fans in India and even answered a fun question on if Hollywood has been mimicking Bollywood.

In the message, Ryan Reynolds agrees in jest that Free Guy is more of an Indian film than anything else. He said, “A crazy villain, action and of course, dancing. If you are wondering if Hollywood is now mimicking Bollywood now? Oh, the answer is yes. We have no shame, no shame at all.” It is funny and to the point. Ryan Reynolds also said, “My movie Free Guy has got a guy named Guy whose quite the Romeo, a girl who is out of his league,” he said, with glimpses of Ryan and Jodie Comer from the movie playing on the screen.”

In 2019, speaking with Hindustan Times, Ryan had declared that he is actually a fan of Indian culture and Indian cinema. “Oh my god. I do love Indian culture and films. I think there is no greater contribution to cinema than from India. When I was a kid I got to see a couple of (movies) from India. I would love to visit India and meet my fans,” he said.

Directed by Shawn Levy, Free Guy releases on 17th September across theaters in India in English and Hindi.
