Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock has announced that she is taking a break from acting. The rom-com queen touched on the topic at the screening of The Lost City during the SXSW festival. During a Q&A, an audience member asked if she planning on doing more creative work with the Hispanic and Chicana communities.
Answering the question the 57-year-old said she is taking a break from the movie to spend time with her family. But she did not disclose the duration of her break. Bullock also said that when her children are older, she hopes to collaborate on additional film projects in the Hispanic and Chicana communities.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Sandra Bullock explained that she does not know how long the hiatus will be. But she needs to take a step back and be in a place that makes her the happiest. That place is spending time with her family.
Sandra said, “I take my job very seriously when I’m at work. And I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family. I aim to spend time with her children Louis 12 and Laila 10. That’s where I’m gonna be for a while.”
Instead of reading scripts, Sandra said her new to-do list will revolve around her kids. “Servicing their every need,” she said of her future plans. “Their social calendar.”
In a 2015 interview with People Magazine, Sandra Bullock said that her children, both of whom were adopted from Louisiana, came to her “at the exact right time. The Ocean’s Eight star adopted her son Louis in 2010 and her daughter Laila in 2015.
On the work front, Sandra Bullock will be seen in The Lost City. The movie also features Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt and Daniel Radcliffe in pivotal roles.
