Song Joong Ki starrer Bogota shoot comes to a halt amidst Covid scare; actor to be in self quarantine

Song Joong Ki was last seen in the Korean drama Vincenzo and he had just began filming for his next movie Bogotá. But, the filming has hit a roadblock due to the recent Covid scare. Song Joong Ki has been asked to be in self-quarantine after one of his acquaintances was diagnosed with Covid-19. The Descendants of the Sun star has been classified as ‘close contact’. But, much to Joong Ki’s fans relief he has tested negative for Covid-19.

History D&C, the agency that represents Song Joong Ki said in a statement that the actors’ acquaintance was diagnosed with Covid-19 on June 30. Post which, Joong Ki was contacted by the authorities and he had to get tested as well, but the actor tested Covid negative.

According to a report by Soompi, a statement by Song Joong Ki’s agency read, “On June 30, an acquaintance of actor Song Joong Ki was informed that they have tested positive for COVID-19, so he cancelled his schedule and underwent pre-emptive testing. Although he tested negative, he was classified as a close contact and was ordered to go into self-quarantine. Therefore, we will halt all his scheduled activities and follow the instructions of the disease prevention authorities.”

The statement further read, “We ask for your understanding for causing concern to many people, and we will do our best to follow the directions and guidelines from the disease prevention authorities.” The report also said that the filming of Bogotá has been stopped for now. Bogotá making had stopped earlier owning to the Covid induced pandemic which had begun in Colombia, in January 2020. Joong Ki is said to be playing the role of a man, Guk Hee, facing many hurdles after arriving in Bogotá at the age of 19 as he is determined to make it in the world of business. Apart from Song Joong Ki, the movie also stars Lee HeeJoon and Kwon Hae Hyo.
