Korean web series Squid Game continues to spread its magic all over again as the show created history at the 28th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards with 3 wins. The SAG Awards took place on February 27 in Santa Monica, California. Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon both won Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series in the male and female category.
This makes Jung Jae and Ho Yeon the first Korean actors to win in the drama series category. They are also the first Asians to bag the big win.

While accepting the award Lee Jung Jae was ecstatic and said, “Oh my. Thank you so much. This is truly huge. I wrote something, but I don’t think I can read it. Thank you so much, SAG Awards. Thank you to the global audience for all of your love for ‘Squid Game,’ and thank you ‘Squid Game’ team!”

Meanwhile, Jung Ho Yeon got emotional as she shared, “First of all, thank you so much. I have seen many of the actors in the audience through the TV screen, dreaming of becoming an actress one day while watching you all. Thank you for making me dream and opening the door for me. I love you my ‘Squid Game’ crew!”

Apart from that Squid Game also won Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series. The other nominees in the category were Cobra Kai, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and Mare of Easttown.
Squid Game created history with 4 nominations at the 28th SAG Awards. The series had become the first non-English language TV series ever to be nominated.
