Squid Games, season 2 and season 3

One of the most-watched web series and the hit series, Squid Game ended on a cliffhanger note. Fans were absolutely amazed by the new concept and it took the entire globe by storm. Now, much to everyone’s delight, the director of the Korean drama has confirmed that the show will be renewed for season 2. Wait, hold that excitement, in fact, he is in talks for season 3 as well. In a recent interview with KBS, Squid Game director Hwang Dong Hyuk said that he is currently discussing Season 2 and Season 3 of the show with Netflix, and expects to reach ‘some sort of conclusion’.

We know that many people are waiting, so everyone is working hard to prepare for the next season with a positive outlook,” the director. Elaborating on the plotline of Season 2, Hwang said the story will focus on Seon Gi-Hun (Lee Jung Jae) unravelling the mystery of the deadly organisation. “The overarching plotline of Season 2 will be the story of the people that Gi Hun meets and the people he chases,” he said. In the last episode, we get to see that Gi-Hun doesn’t take the plane and in fact, gets into a different mission to unfold the secrets of this deadly game.

Netflix also addressed the possibility of a Season 3. “It’s true that we are discussing a wide variety of possibilities for Squid Game, including the production of a Season 3, but nothing has yet been set in stone.

Squid Game is a series where people who are drowning in debt participate in a game in order to win a huge cash prize. However, as they play the game, they realise the loser will have to give up their lives to win the prize money.
