South Korean stars who are starring in the much talked about Netflix series’ Squid Game actors Park Hae-soo and Lee Jung-jae joined Bollywood Bubble for a quick chat. Squid Game has been getting amazing reviews from all around the world and the fans are absolutely loving it. Hae-soo and Jung-jae opened up about their characters in the series and how complex it was to play them. We also asked them, how did they deal with the aftermath of playing such complex characters.  Talking about the series, we asked Jung-jae where did he draw the inspiration from, for his character, Lee told Bollywood Bubble, “These are actually games that I have actually played as a child and also, these are games that we know what it takes to win because we have experience and I feel that it was expressed very well through the storyline and the situations that were put in the script. So, I actually had quite fun being on the sets and shooting the series. When it comes to the games, I really wondered what it would look like onscreen but it was beyond my expectations.”

Talking about his character Park Hae-soo said, “As far as where we drew the inspirations from, the process of analyzing the script, along with having many conversations with the director. I tried to draw inspiration from people that are in my life and people I can see around me. We live in such a competitive society, I tried to gain inspiration from them. Like Jung-Jae mentioned on the set when we see what is happening and the space where the games are being held, and the situations, I try to keep everything in mind about whatever was going around me.”

For anyone who has watched Squid Game knows that Park Hae-soo and Lee Jung-jae’s characters deal with extreme emotions and for such brilliant actors to portray a strong emotion as such must have really taken a toll. When we asked the duo, how they coped with it, Hae-soo said, “I am not the kind of actor I feel who is immersed into a character so much that I can’t snap out of it. I tend to put an end to it quite easily relatively once I am done with the performance. What I like to do is I like to go and have a drink with maybe my co-stars and close friends and once you get that drink, I can carry off after that.”

Jung-jae added, “Once you are in the character and really immersed in the scene and then you come home, rather than focusing on the emotions conveyed through what was shot on that day, I have to spend time preparing for what I will be shooting next. So, I would say rather than trying to snap out of the emotions that I have experienced, I try to put more time and energy into thinking about what is next and conveying that emotion right. So, I wouldn’t say I have a tough time coming out of my former characters.”
