Stray Kids have reclaimed their top position on the Billboard World Albums chart this past week, outpacing several formidable contenders from HYBE. In a display of dominance, Stray Kids’ mini-album ATE not only secured the #1 spot on a chart often led by HYBE artists but also pushed aside heavyweights like BTS’ Jimin, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, and SEVENTEEN during the week ending October 19.
Stray Kids tops the Billboard World Albums chart
Stray Kids’ ATE marked an impressive seventh non-consecutive week at #1 on the Billboard World Albums chart, with this achievement. The K-pop group’s ninth Korean EP, fronted by the title track Chk Chk Boom and featuring cameos from Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in its music video, also maintained its presence on the Billboard 200, landing at #102 for the twelfth week.
As expected, HYBE artists continued to dominate the World Albums chart. Jimin’s solo album celebrated 12 weeks on the Billboard 200, slipping to the second position on the World Albums chart with his second full album, MUSE. ENHYPEN followed closely in third with Romance: Untold, which rose in its 13th consecutive week on the chart. LE SSERAFIM’s Crazy held strong at #4, marking its sixth consecutive week on the charts.
NewJeans’ Get Up album saw a resurgence as it climbed to #6 in its 62nd week, while BTS’ anthology album Proof maintained its remarkable presence at #8, completing an astounding 122 weeks on the World Albums chart.
Following them were BOYNEXTDOOR and SEVENTEEN, placed at #10 and #14 respectively. BOYNEXTDOOR’s 19.99 completed its fourth week, while SEVENTEEN’s new album continued its 24-week run.
Notably, only three non-HYBE K-pop groups made the World Albums chart this week. Besides, Stray Kids leading the pack, P1Harmony from FNC Entertainment claimed the #5 spot with their track, Sad Song in its third week. Finally, SM Entertainment’s Aespa rounded out the list at #15 with Armageddon, marking its 20th week on the Billboard music chart.
