Taika Waititi ‘reprimanded’ by Marvel after pictures of him cosying up with Rita Ora and Tessa Thompson go viral

A week ago, Taika Waititi had made headlines as pictures of him getting cosy with girlfriend Rita Ora and Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson. The trio was spotted at the balcony of his Bondi home in Sydney. According to a report by Daily Telegraph, the Marvel executives were not impressed by this act and as a result they had reprimanded the Thor: Love And Thunder director. Taika, Rita and Tessa were in Sydney for the shoot of the new upcoming Thor movie.

Not just Marvel, but the pictures have also upset Marvel’s parent company Disney. Thor: Love and Thunder production insider was quoted by Daily Telegraph saying that Taika’s behaviour was “Not exactly the image they’re looking to project in relation to one of their biggest franchises.”

The insider further added, “While Taika is known for being a ‘party animal’, the photos ‘crossed a line’ for company bosses.”Rita and Taika had only recently made their relationship public as they made their first appearance together earlier this month at the Sydney Opera House premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under. The duo did not walk the red carpet together. but they sat next to each other at the venue.

Talking about Thor: Love And Thunder, the movie also stars Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt as their superhero characters Thor and Star-Lord. The plot of the movie will pick up from Avengers: Endgame where they left off as the God of Thunder departs Earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy.  The duo will depart on a mission to discover who he is beyond all of the trappings of his birthright.
