As reported by Puck, the makers of The Devil Wears Prada have confirmed that a sequel is in the works, and the film will see the return of some beloved characters. Accordign to the report, Meryl Streep is set to return as Miranda Priestly while Emily Blunt will reprise her role as Emily Charlton. While Emily was Miranda’s assistant in the first instalment, her character will now be seen as a senior executive at a luxury group.Â
While Meryl and Emily are set to lock horns in the upcoming sequel, there’s no news on whether Anne Hathaway will make an appearance as Andrea Sachs. Andy was Miranda’s former assistant who walked away from the fashion world at the end of the first film.

As per the report, writer Aline Brosh McKenna – who also penned the first part, is in talks to script the sequel. The narrative will reportedly follow Miranda as she struggles with the decline in the traditional print business. She will then face off with her former assistant Emily Charlton, who is a senior executive at a luxury group. The crux of the film will be Miranda needing advertising revenue and whether or not Emily will help her out after the terrible time she had working with her.
