Akshay Kumar has once again hit the right chord with his latest offering ‘PadMan’. The film that aims to create awareness about sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene has turned out to be a successful venture for the actor and the makers. Certainly, the film had high expectations ever since it was announced. But, it was due to its ‘taboo subject’ that the film was ultimately banned from clearance in the neighbouring country, Pakistan.
Recently, it was during a media interaction when Akshay was first questioned about the fact that we live in a system where people often get sentimental about a lot of things. So, was there ever an instance when the actor felt that there might be some backlash that the film or he may face from some sort of people? “No there’s no backlash to this.. no there’s no backlash to this, the only thing backlash.. not a backlash also that Pakistan didn’t release the movie. that’s it,” Akshay replied. When further asked about what steps are being taken on the film’s ban there, Akshay urged to neighbouring country that they should allow the people there to watch this film. He said, “I just request them.. I just request them that please allow people to watch this film there. It’s an important subject, it’s very important for people and there is nothing wrong in this film and it is a very pure subject. So, I just hope they take my request and allow the movie to get release and I’m sure one day it will happen there.”
Well, we totally agree on what Akshay Kumar has said. We wish the film sees the light of the theatres, across the border.
Talking about the film ‘PadMan’, it stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles, and is directed by R Balki.
Quiet, resonant, and creative, he can be seen immersed in his own world, and puts in his heart and soul into the one passion that he has, Bollywood. His line for survival? Feel happy to be a part of it.
