Recently, we engaged in an exclusive chat with actress Taapsee Pannu, ahead of the release of ‘Judwaa 2’. As the actress will be seen in a glamorous role for the first time, we asked her if she is in love with this genre and prefers this over serious roles like the ones she played in ‘PINK’ and ‘Naam Shabana’.
Here’s what she said, “The thing is it’s not like I enjoy this or that more, the thing is if I keep doing one thing continuously, I get really annoyed with it, it becomes boring and irritating. And you don’t know what more to do with it, you don’t come up with fresh ideas because you are just doing the same things monotonously everyday, be it serious films or be it comedy films. So all I need to do is to change the gear. As far as I’m refreshing myself with different genres, you know I’m happy and comfortable doing that. As an actor, I don’t think I have the liberty to choose a genre or rather call a genre my favorite. Because if I do that, then I’ll put all I have in just one genre and the other genres will not be enjoyed as much which as unfair. So, I don’t think I should be even allowed to have a favourite genre. Apart from s*x comedies, all other films I would be more than happy to try.” (Also Read: EXCLUSIVE: My character is totally revamped, says Taapsee Pannu on ‘Judwaa 2’)
We further asked that since ‘Judwaa 2’ is completely different from her earlier roles in movies like ‘PINK’ and ‘Naam Shabana’, will she be open to more such glamorous roles considering the fact that audiences are loving her ‘Judwaa 2’ avatar. She said, “Yeah, of course I do. I mean there needs to be a fine balance between all types of genres. I am a Bollywood heroine and I’ve grown up watching such films. So, why wouldn’t I want to be a part of them! If I think that I can spend my hard-earned money over such films, then why wouldn’t I not want to do such films. So, I would definitely do these films. I just hope my audiences and the film industry like me in these roles so I can do more such films.”
Talking about ‘Judwaa 2’, it is directed by David Dhawan and also features Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez in main roles. The movie is slated to release on Sept 29, 2017.
