‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’: Here’s what made Mudassar Aziz opt for Diana Penty

Diana Penty is all set to make her big screen comeback with Mudassar Aziz’s ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’. The actress had made her debut with ‘Cocktail’ where she played a different role from what she plays in ‘HBJ’. Recently, when we interviewed Mudassar, he revealed what made him opt for Diana.

When we asked him if Diana was the first choice for the film, Mudassar said, “The first choice for the film was actually nobody. It was a difficult character to cast because the minute you try to cast conventional, you fell into the racket and it would feel like any other film. So, I was very clear about one thing that I wanted a girl from which you (audience) didn’t expect this. I don’t want to make a comment on anybody, but just to explain my point, if you see Parineeti Chopra doing ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ you don’t feel satisfied because you will think like ‘yeh to kar hie leti hai Parineeti’, she is that good at it.”

“I was meeting a few actresses and then I met Diana. After the meeting she came up to me and told me that ‘it’s a great script and I might not be your first choice for the film, but if I do it I will give my 200%’. Now that gave a shift in my head. Maybe if that one line discussion would have not happened, I am not sure if I would have roped in Diana. So, I thought that how many actresses I have met are willing to say this to me that ‘I will give my 200%’. So, that’s how she owned the film,” the director added.

Well, after watching the trailer, we can surely say that the actress has given her 200%.
