Deepika Padukone
Day 1- Sheer purple gown by Marchesa Day 2- Emerald green one-shoulder thigh high-slit dress by Brandon Maxwell Verdict- Proving that sometimes less is more, the Indian actress looked stunning during her outings. Also, to mention that her makeup game too was quite strong when she graced the red carpet.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Day 1- Sky blue coloured fairy tale dress by Michael Cinco Day 2-Dazzling ruby-red coloured outfit by Ralph and Russo. Verdict - Out of all the Bollywood celebs who have walked the Cannes red carpet, our favourite is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with regards to her wardrobe choices. Needless to say, be it day one or two, she managed to turn heads at the Cannes red carpet. She ranks quite high on our style-o-meter this year.
Nandita Das
Day 1- Golden-zari saree by a Mumbai-based designer Anavila Misra. Verdict - It's always an honour to represent Indian attire on international red carpet, but flaunting a saree with zero style sense can sometimes prove dangerous. Kudos to Nandita Das for choosing an authentic Indian outfit, but she looked nonetheless than a women painted in gold. We mean, a golden saree with golden blouse and ethnic jhumkas, gosh, a hint of contrast colour might have helped!
Sonam Kapoor
Day 1- Lights up the red carpet in a custom Elie Saab couture Day 2- Giving golden goddess vibes in a dress by Elie Saab Verdict- Sonam Kapoor and fashion go hand in hand, she puts in a thought behind her wardrobe, she doesn’t take any appearance lightly and makes sure that extra effort is seen. But this year at Cannes 2017, the choice of gowns on both nights for the red carpet was so identical! Shimmery and shiney gowns with plunging necklines, even the colours belonged to the same family - gold and rose gold. Absolutely no depth in the selection, disappointing!
Shruti Haasan
Day 1- She donned a black coloured dress by Avaro Figlio Day 2 - She opted for a black ruffled saree with a golden structured blouse by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla Verdict - Being a first timer on the Cannes 2017 red carpet, Haasan has little bit of impressed us with her stint. While her both red carpet looks were good-enough, the main drawback is the selection of colour black on both the days.
Mallika Sherawat
Day 1 - Off-shoulder floral gown by Georges Hobeika Verdict - Mallika Sherawat, never the most elegant of celebrities, was unmemorable this year at Cannes. She who had become synonymous to fashion disasters at international red carpets has finally broken her fashion-dry-spell with a gorgeous light-pink gown at the Cannes Film Festival 2017. Lastly, we hope next year these divas put up a better show.
