What took her outfit a notch higher? The messy hairdo, smoky eyes and the pair of studded, silver Christian Louboutin pumps, which added peppiness to the overall look.

Who knew formals could be a red carpet affair?

Shruti was also earlier spotted in a Bibhu Mohapatra Silk velvet suit on Day 1 during a press interaction. We wouldn't really say that her style game was bang on, but the ensemble was neatly put together. Shruti, you really need a pop of some colour, babe!

Talk about being experimentally gorgeous!

With those brows on fleek and makeup minimal, we are not sure what we think of this outfit of Shruti. However, in this blend of Indian and western saw her wearing an embroidered floral robe. She finished off the look with Mahesh Nottandas earrings.

Channelising her inner warrior-princess!

Now here's our favourite part. As the day is unfolding, Shruti's second appearance is proving to be lucky for her. Looks like she's channelling her inner warrior princess with that oomph factor. You go, girl! For Day 3, the gorgeous actress sported an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla number, a ring by Misho and an ear stud by Anomaly. Can we be appreciative of the fact that the lady is not afraid of taking risks? The black shimmery saree, winged liner and an almost sans-makeup look made her a favourite of the shutterbugs.

Shruti Haasan ladies and gentlemen, the new princess of the Cannes red carpet, owing it like a pro.

Let’s not bombard Shruti Haasan with criticism. Come on, it’s her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival and we think she did quite well. Even the veteran Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has had her fair share of hits and misses at the red carpet. So, some kindness doesn’t hurt. Does it?

For the first appearance, the lovely actor opted for an elegant Avaro Figlio black, ruffled gown, which was a mix of cold-shoulder, ruffles and long train. The dress was super-short from the front and long from the back. Although it was pretty, we wish it had that extra dose of glamour needed for an international platform like Cannes. But we aren’t complaining. Of course, the red carpet was flooded with grand ensembles, but even our South diva posed for the shutterbugs with confidence in her classic number. Although, we must admit that she looked a bit nervous initially while walking down the stairs. But may be it’s the Cannes jitters. We are just trying to be fair.
