Remo D’Souza is back with the sequel to ‘ABCD’, the very hit 2013 film. ‘ABCD 2‘ is a wonderful ensemble of well-choreographed dance sequences. The story starts with a dance competition, where after a performance by Suresh(Varun Dhawan) who is the son of a a talented and a Padmashri award winner dancer, and his troupe. The Judges instead of awarding them, throw them out on charges of plagiarism. Suresh (Varun Dhawan), Vernon (Sushant Pujari), and Vinnie (Shraddha Kapoor) — retreat to their day jobs (waiter, pizza deliveryman, hairstylist), where they are persistently mocked by their customers for being “cheaters.”
The dejected boy from Mumbai suburbs then decides to avenge the insult by participating in the Las Vegas dance competition, with the intention of Indians outdoing the foreigners in their competition. Suresh meets Vishnu (Prabhudheva). He’s a coach in need of a team, and Suresh is sure he has just the right team for him — if only he can shake Vishnu from the drunken stupor he sinks into. Ultimately Vishnu inspires the dancers, and lifts them from their dejection.
What will happen to Suresh’s troupe? Will Suresh be able win back his honor? Will he make his mother proud? You will have to watch the movie to know more.
Varun Dhawan has grown as an actor. He has outdone himself in the dance sequences, especially in the Tandav dance he blows our mind with his awesome dancing skills.
Shraddha Kapoor the weak link on the other hand, amazes us with her dance performances and shocks us as well.
Prabhudheva, enters in his trademark style, ups the quotient with the introductory song ‘Happy Hour’ much to the delight of his fans. Remo has given ample screen time to all the dancers. Hence, we get to watch everyone flaunting their moves with expertise.
‘ABCD 2’ is a wonderful ensemble of well-choreographed dance sequences and even makes use of 3D to make it more stunning. The music score by Sachin-Jigar is an instant hit, direction by Remo is also good.
‘ABCD 2’ is a must watch for dance lovers this weekend.
