Over the years, as an audience, we have come across numerous Superhero flicks in Bollywood. No doubt, They have been magnificent and larger than life with astonishing VFX and sound effects. But at the end of the day, we all know such superheroes only exist in some parallel universe.

With ‘Bhavesh Joshi Superhero’, director Vikramaditya Motwane tries to stick to the real definition of a Superhero. Focusing on the real problems of life, the film is based on a gang of three friends- Siku, Bhavesh and Rajat and their fight against the corrupted system.

The first half of the film is promising as it explores Siku and Bhavesh’s fight against the different issues like water scarcity and cleanliness prevailing in the Mumbai city. While Siku loses hope, Bhavesh remains hell-bent on his initiative.

The gang receives a huge blow when one of them loses life due to a politician. And then begins the next over stretched half which throws light on Siku’s mission to avenge his friend’s death while exposing the culprits behind the same.

Talking about the story, it goes without saying that the director has put up a brave front by choosing a hard-hitting subject (corruption). The movie takes off high with the brilliant cinematography by Siddharth Diwan. Blue and dark setting of the film is apt to the script and is also applaud-worthy. It hits the low with a stretched second half which obviously drifted me a while from the story and the forceful effort to fit a song which nowhere relates to the film.

Overall, owing to Motwane’s subject + vision and the cinematography definitely demands you to watch it out on a lazy Sunday.
