Deadpool & Wolverine Review
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are a treat to watch on the big screen as Deadpool and Wolverine. This 2-hour-long actioner – filled with bloodshed, bromance (way, way, way more than romance) and action is here to revive Marvel, and how. Deadpool wants to save the world and let us tell you, he’s successful in it as he’s literally saving Marvel here. Deadpool and Wolverine have made an impactful entry in the MCU and the ripples of it are sure to be felt across the multiverse.

The film begins in typical Deadpool fashion with a ton of killing, blood-spattering and Ryan’s character breaking the 4th wall and talking to the audience. He’s on a mission to prove his worth and travels across the multiverse to find a partner in crime to help him make a difference. How he finds Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, where do they travel together, the many amazing superheroes they meet along what way and whether or not they are successful in their mission are what make up the film. The storytelling style paired with top-notch acting, action, direction, dialogues and jokes, will keep you glued to your seats right from the first scene to the last. Indian audience, you only need to stand for the national anthem, don’t get up when the words ‘Interval’ splashes on the screen. Scroll below to read our details Deadpool & Wolverine Review.
What’s Works
Almost EVERYTHING works. From the bromance Ryan ‘Deadpool’ Reynolds & Huge ‘Wolverine ‘Jackman share and action to the superhero film’s dialogue, mentions of Fox, Disney & Marvel, jokes and more, almost everything thing fits perfectly where it’s supposed to.
What Doesn’t Work
This was something very difficult to find. But in order to deliver an honest Deadpool & Wolverine review, here it is – the story is a bit meh and feels rushed. The narrative is fun but on really close inspection you may feel it lacks a strong story. (PS: They more than makeup for it with the other positive aspects, so you may not even notice the film lacking between the many oohs, aahs, and OMGs! you will surely be expressing.)

Deadpool & Wolverine Technical Analysis
Story
Deadpool & Wolverine follows Ryan Reynolds’ character Wade Wilson wanting to live a calm, action-free life with one aim – to make himself matter. The 128-minute long narrative – which is sure to revive the MCU, sees Ryan’s character having a not-so-pleasant interaction with the TVA before he journeys across universes to find Wolverine and achieve his dream. The story is just that much. A simple way to explain what happened in the film – without giving spoilers – it’s a trip where two friends vaguely have a destination in mind but haven’t planned out how they are going to reach there. The many cameos along the way are like those pit stops taken for food and drinks that make the journey a memorable experience
Direction
Shawn Levy has done a commendable job behind the camera when it comes to capturing the actions, reactions and interactions of all the characters. From not letting the actors’ – who are not in focus, expressions go unnoticed to capturing the essence that made each superhero special, Shawn has succeeded.

VFX
Having watched the film in 2D, the VFX/CGI is believable and not over the top. This makes even the fictional world of the regeneration characters feel real. There is a possibility that 3D viewing may be a different experience.
Music
When it comes to a Deadpool movie, songs are a must given how much the red suit-clad merc loves to dance. Deadpool & Wolverine have several songs that successfully add flavours to the narrative. Rob Simonsen deserves a round of applause for the film’s soundtrack. You will hear a total of 17 tracks, along with some amazing background scores.
Deadpool & Wolverine Star Performances
When it comes to performances, the two leading stars have hit the ball out of the part. Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman returning to our screens as Wolverine is the best thing you are going to see on the big screen for a long, long time. The two – with their crackling chemistry and dig-taking dialogues are enough to carry this film across any choppy waters and break box office records.
The villains – Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova and Matthew Macfadyen as Mr Paradox are okay. They could have been better had the story delved more into their past. They appear very basic and lack any shades of grey.
The supporting cast – aka Deadpool’s X-Force team, has very limited screen time with very few dialogues. They do their job but do not leave much of an impression – not their fault though.
There are several cameos of characters previously seen in MCU and Fox superhero films. Without revealing who they are, let me tell you, they leave an impact even with their short appearances making you feel for them too.
Conclusion
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-led Deadpool & Wolverine is a cinematic treat. In Deadpool’s language – this film will leave all (and not just comic book nerds) w*t in their skirts and t*ght in their pants. The film is a must-watch for its acting, action, bromance, dialogues, and jokes.
Hope our insightful, spoiler-free Deadpool & Wolverine review convinces you to see this ‘marvel’ (wink, wink!) in theatres.
