Dhoom Dhaam Review

Dhoom Dhaam follows the story of newlyweds Koyal (Yami Gautam) and Veer (Pratik Gandhi), who barely know each other due to their arranged marriage. Their honeymoon night takes a bizarre turn when two men break into their room, demanding to know the whereabouts of someone named Charlie. And thus, a chaotic chase begins.

What Works

The film has Yami Gautam’s monologue, which is interesting to watch and it is a moment every woman can relate to her feelings. Also, the chemistry between Yami and Pratik is complemented by witty punchlines that provide sporadic laughter.

What Doesn’t Work

A dull and uninspired script with a poorly executed climax. The film also has unnecessary sequences that add nothing to the plot, making the film feel stretched and aimless.

Technical Analysis

If you’ve seen a similar romantic comedy, Dhoom Dhaam won’t offer much novelty; it’s a mindless watch for anyone in the room. The execution lacks freshness, and the narrative might feel recycled.

Star Performances

Talking about the performances, Yami Gautam delivers a decent performance but evokes memories of her role in Ginny Weds Sunny. On the other hand, Pratik Gandhi plays it safe, sticking rigidly to the script without adding his signature charm.

Prateik Babbar makes a brief but impactful appearance, while Eijaz Khan, Mukul Chaddha and Pavitra Sarkar stand out with an intriguing twist to their character.

Conclusion

Despite its promising premise, Dhoom Dhaam struggles with weak writing and a lack of direction. A tighter script and a more meaningful storyline could have made a world of difference. Yami Gautam & Pratik Gandhi lose track in the messy plot and dull climax.
